Liqueur from the Netherlands. Principally caraway with some anise, orris, fennel and cumin; minimum 35% ABV. Neutral spirit base originates from grain or potatoes; colorless. One of the oldest liqueurs with 'digestive' properties. Bols brand produced since 1575. Others include Wolfschmidt, Fockink, Mentzendorff and Nicholoff.
